Staged deep within the the
bowels of the Baby Belly in the smallest working area for actors I
have seen in this year's Fringe, this setting actually suits the
claustrophobic feel of the play. Three characters the intense
John, the very attractive Evie and the enigmatic unnamed
waiter/stranger are caught up in dream sequences and a time trap.
John falls for Evie but
after an initial romance she is swept off her feet by the waiter
whom she later marries. Atmospheric and at times puzzling, the
ending is compelling and dramatic. Acted beautifully by the three
principals, the Forever Waltz is an intriguing play.
