The Turn of the Screw
The Turn of the Screw is a Ghost story performed by two people. It is the governess concerned in the story, telling the tail through episodes of her diary being read during the performance. Suzy Whitefield plays the Governess, whilst Adam Speers narrates the story as well as playing all the other characters involved.  The show was directed by Phil Buck.
A man hires a young ministers daughter as governess to his two young wards, on the surprising condition that he is not to be contacted about them at all!  She falls in love with them at first site and fanaticizes about the family unit she could form with the children and their uncle, after all it happens in books.
Her delusions are shattered when she discovers their x-governess and her manservant lover, who both died in separate tragic accidents, are haunting the children.  Her love for and protection of the children is not enough to prevent another tragic death and she then moves from position to position only caring for those with one boy and one girl in the family.
This chilling tail is well told and left me looking carefully over my shoulder for the rest of the night.
