I
was told that this was Shakespeare like I'd never seen it before
and they were right!
Although
it is well documented that I hate Shakespeare I was persuaded by
the sales pitch by David during many chats in the High Street and
must admit it was good, for me still too much Bard , but the
comical way it was presented certainly held my attention.
It
appears that most of the cast have been held up in traffic and the
set has gone missing, but the show must go on. Go on it does with
the assistance of several audience members and a lot of
imagination. Guy Mandozzi as Romeo, Katrina Weeks as Juliet, David
J Barber as Capulet and the versatile Nic Brownlie and Stacey
Wonfer as actor and actress lead us through a memorable hour and a
bit performance of Ian Stephens play, which is also directed by Mr
Brownlie.
The
company have a lot of talent and had I known the original better,
I'm sure I'd have enjoyed their production more.
