Faust In The Box

****
Looking like most peoples vision of a mime artiste, all in black with a white painted face, Bridge Markland, who is apparently a Berlin transformation artist, performs Goethe’s “Faust”.
We have a giant box on stage with a shuttered window in the centre. Bridge performs his show in, around, over and in front using puppets of all sizes, costumes, wigs and a soundtrack to which he mimes. This soundtrack mixes passages from the original play and pop tracks, as strange as this may sound it works so well I became fascinated to see and hear just what was about to happen next.
Unless you actually have a phobia of mime artists this show should be seen to view the art at its best. It is superbly performed and very very cleverly written and designed.
Unfortunately it is impossible to mime applause in writing however I can give it four stars.
