Judith Faultless and Alice Torrance seem to
have been missing from the Fringe for a couple of years since their
classic Face Off show, and I nearly missed them this year as somehow
I only latterly found their show in the Fringe brochure.
I initially wondered how just these two
extremely funny comedy actors would cope with all the roles in this
skit on the Dumas classic, but then why did I? I’ve seen them
before and both being women, multi-tasking does come naturally
doesn’t it?
The ladies squabble initially as to who
will play the title role of d’Artagnan and from that moment on the
fun begins.
The usual storyline is adapted by this
intrepid pair as Athos, Porthos, Aramis, Cardinals kings,
Buckingham, assorted guards a landlord wife and the mysterious
masked Milady all have their input into this gloriously silly romp.
The assistance of a young audience member
is enlisted only twice in the hour which made me exhausted just
watching the energy expended by Judith and Alice, I can’t begin to
imagine how they felt.
You wouldn’t want to miss this show as it
an ideal start to your Fringe day.
