Chix where a girl band with the world at
their feet and a massive hit record, well it reached no 15, some
years ago and this comedy play opens with the video playing on the
back drop as three of the originals, Red, Kiki Hendrick, Shelagh,
Sue Vincent and Nuela Catherine Rice meet up for a drink in a pub
that used to be their old stomping ground.
The years have played there part in these
three ladies lives, and not all for the good. The drink flows, served
by Sean, Gareth Kane, the Irish barman and the encounter with uber
fan Malcolm, Paul Henshall, is perhaps the catalyst required to spur
the intrepid trio back into the limelight under the new guise as
Mutton.
This play had loads of potential, but for
me this was not truly realised. Each character was somewhat
stereotyped and there was nothing that really captured my
imagination even though all gave a solid acting performance.
