This
challenging play written by Timberlake Wertenbaker is brought to
Fringe 2007 by Teabreak Theatre Company.
The
numerous characters are portrayed by only four actors, Alice Bernard,
Jessica Hinds, Stacey Lamb and Augustia McKie, but they put their
heart and soul into each as this Greek tragedy develops.
Directed
by Katharine Armitage and with the entire cast adding their own
touches, the play centres on two sisters, Procne and Philomele, the
attraction of Procne's husband for the younger sister and the tragic
consequences that ensue.
This
is not light and fluffy theatre, the story line not always crystal
clear, however the company put their all into the production and you
could certainly do far worse than to check it out.
