Into the Hoods

A magical and wonderful experience created by Director/Choreographer Kate Prince and everybody associated with this production. There is so much going on in terms of the fusion of dance, comedy, music and film. The overall effect, nevertheless, is visually stunning and completely coordinated. 

Providing the backdrop to the stage action is the driving beat of the music soundtrack and a film projection incorporating video and animation sequences. The story is a modern urban fairy tale with a tower block taking the place of the forest and told through hip hop dance theatre. Here we meet such characters such Spinderella, Rap-on-Zel, Lil Red, Wolf, Prince, Jaxx and the Giant. There are in the region of 20 dancers, hugely talented and with unflagging energy. 

This is a production that definitely has the ‘wow’ factor. Don’t take my word for it. Comments I was hearing at the end of show were “awesome”, “phenomenal”, “brilliant”. Definitely a show to put on your schedule.
