The
Glynn Nicholas Group present 'Certified Male', this could be
described as a modern cautionary tale whose message is directed at today's
workaholic.
The cast
Roger
Alborough is Jarrad a stunningly handsome and gentlemanly mature
company owner who springs the company bonding weekend away on his
top three workers.
Les
Dennis is McBride, a middle aged, much married man with kids and road-rage
delighted to get away from the ravages of home.
Simon
Gleeson is Howard, long time married with two kids, spending more and
more time at wok.
Glynn
Nicholas is Alex the youngest member of the group, a collector of
the finest things in life but afraid of commitment with females.
This
is a combination of a musical a play, a comedy and part just fun
performance, although there is a script it is occasionally strayed
from and these moments are even funnier. The four actors are not
only very talented and they all have good singing voices, but they
also are extremely easy on the eye. The fifth member of the team
Alex Silverman sits with his back to us most of the time playing his
piano for the musical numbers and also mood music throughout the
show.
Why
has Jarrad taken them all away for the weekend and why has he given
them all a personal gift of something precious to him?
Why
is Jarrad digging deep into their personal secrets and family lives?
Will
the re-jigging of the company leave one or more of them without a
job?
If
you can go and see this superb show written by Glynn Nicholas and
Scott Rankin do I guarantee you will have a superb time but, you
might just come out considering aspects of your personal life!
Oh and could I have a recording of the songs please?
