 A one woman play set mainly in Italy tells an
amusing tale of a prostitute trying to escape from being 'a perfect
prostitute to becoming a perfect wife'. Unfortunately, before she can
marry she is blackmailed to seduce a sanctimonious politician.
Annika Strohm, from Norway, gives a vibrant and
sexy performance playing all the characters in the play. Her movement
and timing bring out the essentially affectionate nature of her
main character.
The set is stunning. Played against a white
backdrop, Annika is dressed for the most part in red and latterly
wearing very little in black. This combination is very effective.
in enhancing the action. The ending is most dramatic in resolving whether
she achieves her ambition.
Teatro del Borgia are presenting an unusual and
creative production.
