This
will be a little hard to review, due to the fact that their seemed to
have been an invasion of partly boozed up people who decided that a
visit to this show, and then cause creator, writer and performer Zoe
Lewis some grief.
I
suspect al of these people were known he her and
it sure as hell didn't help her performance and even some less
than professional techy work compounded the problems further.
This
would have been a very enjoyable show I'm sure, as Ms Lewis leads us
through her characters life with numerous of references to Madonna's
life and her efforts to occasionally emulate her and on a couple of
times meet her.
A
variety of tee-shirts depicting her heroine, together with a Material
Girl clone Fannie James dancing to tracks punctuating the scene changes
add to this homage to Ms Cicconne.
When
she is in control Ms Lewis is a fine actress for someone who prefers to
write rather than perform, and their voices she uses to also play her
mother, friend and one time boyfriend are such that you can just imagine
them.
The
problems she encountered obviously reduced the impact of the show and
those of us not included in the party rather had our enjoyment spoiled,
however I'd like to try and see this again to see what she could really
do.
