I
first became aware of Tangled Feet at Fringe 2005, when Alex of the
company almost bullied me into going to see their show Lost Property. I
did go and must admit thoroughly enjoyed the theatrical experience, so
hence they were high on my list of shows to see this year.
This
play is set in the kitchen of avid radio listener and daydreamer Emily,
played by Emily Jane Horn. Our imaginative heroine dreams her way into
the radio shows she hears and envisages herself exploring with Daniel,
Johnathan Ellicot, with jazz diva, the afore mentioned Alex Ramsden,
with classical musician Jess, Shelly Halsread, with agony aunt Lorna,
Beth Wignall or sailing with Bill, Leon Smith, but on one day does it
all go far to far?
This
very imaginative play is energetically performed by one and all, the set
design is of the same high standard and versatility as last years, and
the direction of Nathan Curry holds it all together.
It
is said that the best parties always take place in kitchens, well for
innovative theatre, Emily's Kitchen is right up there with the best and will take some beating.
