The About Turn Theatre Company present the
Eurovision Song Contest loving play ‘Boom Bang-a-Bang’.
Accompanied by a brilliant soundtrack of the
best and not so good hits from past Eurovision’s we see the ups and
downs of one group of friends whilst attempting to watch the contest.
Lee (Jonathan Allison) is having a flat warming / Euro-watching evening
with his closest friends. This is his first big trip into normality
after the sudden death of his partner.
His boyfriend-less sister Wendy (Jill Coles) is helping prepare
the food but unbeknown to him she has her own agenda.
They are joined by Dan Hyde as Steph, Jonathan Bullock as Roy,
Bea Taylor as Tania, Phil Wallace as Nick and Marco Liviero as Norman
the upstairs neighbour.
Although in places the plot is about as cheesy
as past winners, it is also hilarious and well worth going to see.
It is ‘Ooh, Ah Just A Little Bit’ of fun
and if you are ‘ Making Your Mind Up’ as to what to see, go and see
‘Boom Bang-a-Bang’ and you will be saying ‘Congratulations’ on a
great show.
