This
play is set in the early 60's in a C of E run home for expectant mothers
prior to the baby's being adopted.
This piece charts the lives of four young mum's
to be Mary, Laura Hanna, Norma, Amy Jackson, Dolores, Morag Taylor and
Gabriella Heard as Queenie in a two-month time span in the home run by
Matron, Helen Winston.
In
the play written by Amanda Whittington and directed by Corinne Sawers,
who also plays Mary's mum Mrs Adams, tackles the issues of the
conditions at that time with compassion and lightens the nature of the situation
with some comedy even in the darkest moments.
A
really interesting piece of early evening entertainment.
