This piece of musical theatre was created
by the company to fulfill two purposes, firstly to explore sound in
the way of guitar and piano together with voice and as a
celebration of their mother.
They
certainly achieved the first aim. The music was experimental in
places, traditional in others and with a variety of song styles
and effect pedals the range was wide.
Whether
they achieved the celebration of mother was somewhat difficult to
be certain. The first few numbers the sound was such that the
lyrics were drowned so any message that was being put across was
lost. The piece although predominately a solo performance by Fern
Smith accompanied by composer and musician Patrick Fitzgerald
was certainly dramatic and Ms Smith's vocal style was very versatile
So
check this out if you like your entertainment experimental because
you won't be disappointed.
