The Return
Fresh Track Productions
The Return, written by Reg Cribb, is a raw edged drama set on a late night train between Perth and Freemantle in Western Australia. But as well as being raw edged it has plenty of humour as well and no emotion is spared as each character inter reacts with the others
Steve and Trev are two yobbos, ex-jailbirds, looking for trouble, but when student Lisa joins the train testosterone rears it's ugly head and the final additions of a housewife and a writer join the cocktail is complete.
Each has a story to tell, at times one can almost smell the tension, this is a volatile mix and something has to give. I will not say what, but I really would recommend you go, and find out for yourselves.
Alistair Scott-Young and Roman Vaculik are suitably menacing as Steve and Trev, Melanie Vallejo as Lisa, Irene Tunis as the housewife together with the Writer portrayed by Caleb Lewis certainly add their talents to complement an excellent set and tight direction. This is certainly a gem.
