Playing for Reward
Andy Jordan Productions / Rags and Feathers Theatre Company
Busking in the London underground is illegal, not only that but busker's have there own pitches.  During this show we meet not only Scarlet Rhodes (Emma Williams) the busker but all the people she meets in her daily life, as well as some from her past.  Emma has a beautiful voice and her performance is a joy to watch.
I had previously seen Paul Tonkinson, who plays all the other characters, doing stand-up and that was enjoyable, in this he displays just how versatile he is.  He played the audience making us all feel part of the action.
Although Emma plays her own instruments they have a musician for the incidental music and additional depth. The musician Joe Evans, who composed all the music for the show is the real life LBC Radio Busker of the Year.
With a little development this show could make either a longer musical or a TV special. One which I would enjoy watching.
