Sheugh Productions from St Andrews bring
this Robin Hawdon Comedy / Farce as the vehicle for their first
venture onto the Fringe.
The
plot starts when bridegroom to be Bill, Sam Butcher, wakes up on
his wedding day with a hang over and a strange girl, Judy, played
by Annika Ostman, in his bed. All manner of panic ensues as
Rachel, his bride, Emma Barttelot is due at any moment. Tom, the
best man, Sam Wilkin, arrives to 'assist' Bill and with the
assistance of chambermaid Julie, played by Samara Maclaren things
get even more complicated. The final character Daphne, Belinda
Balfour, is the bride's mother adds to the confusion.
With
all the classic facets of farce being employed the pace is fast
and furious and in spite of the tiny acting space available clever
direction gets round this problem.
So
does Bill get away with it? Is it Judy or Julie who is really the
chambermaid? And will the wedding go ahead?
