The Paper Piano
Partido Productions
In the fringe programme the paper piano read like an interesting show with the added incentive of the actress Jane Rossington possibly best known for her role as Jill in Crossroads although she has a vast wealth of other experiences ranging from TV, radio, theatre and pantomime with Joseph Wicks a graduate of Cambridge who went on to do a Post Graduate course at the Royal Academy of Music.
Unfortunately it did not live up to this promise, even Ms Rossington seemed to be uncomfortable. The basic idea was good but almost seemed to be a TV script rather than stage show. Both performers attempted to settle into the parts but I did not fully believe either.
This Paper Piano is certainly no Steinway, more like an out of tune pub honky-tonk.
