Physical
theatre is not a medium I am particularly fond of but the company
persuaded me that I should come and see their theatrical
production. I went and I was not disappointed. There was certainly
an awful lot of movement in this piece written by James Stock and
on occasions is was difficult to know where to look on stage as
there was always something going on at the same time.
The play centres around a family of three
'children' and their mother waiting for their father to return
from war and the boy is trying to build wings to fly while his
sister thinks they are angel wings. The mother seems to be
suffering some form of breakdown while the oldest sister, who
thinks she is grown up and treats her siblings accordingly. And
there is a surprise in the end.
All
this together with a well dressed set and quality design and
direction make this a performance well worth experiencing.
