Everyone
remembers their first love don't they? With the resurgence of
nostalgia manifested in the likes of Friends Reunited and albums
such as The Best School Disco album in the world Toby Mitchell and
Emma Manton have build a comedy theatre piece around their own and
their audiences 'First Loves.'
The gently paced non-threatening show is
well written and structured, both Mitchell and Manton are
endearing and obviously have a great rapport. They seem to be
enjoying themselves almost as much as the audience were.
Using
the results of questionnaires they have previously issued together
with some they had planted we follow their journey to track down
their characters own first loves by using the internet and other
sources eventually succeeding to some extent but with a definite
twist in the tale.
This
is a very amusing play, and for me it finished all too soon, check
it out if you can and find out if nostalgia is as good as it used
to be.
