April in Paris
R.U. Theatre Group
April in Paris is one of the John Godber plays that is not done to death on the Fringe and it was really god to seeing it again after many years.
Simply staged and directed the story tracks Al, played by Graham Hewitson and his wife Bet, Linda McLaren playing a Yorkshire couple down on their luck. Bet wins a competition for a weekend in Paris and after much reluctance on his part persuades Al to go with her.
The play tracks their progress by ferry and subsequent trials and tribulations mixed with pleasure during their experiences during their sojourn in the French capital and their somewhat reversal of roles on their return.
This play is very worth catching but beware, it is on a very limited run and tickets could well be at a premium.
