A man lies dying, his chance to live on is in the hands of not Fate but Five Facets of Love.
Amor Contaminado (Contaminated Love)   Harriet Halfhead
Amor Romantico (Romantic Love)   Najla Ferreira Kay
Amor Verdadeiro (True Love)   Monica Ube
Amor Singelo (Kind Love)   Belinda Hoare
Amor Cego (Blind Love)   Karen French
All dressed in the deepest dark red the loves must decide whether he lives longer or dies, his death will be signified by the tolling of the bell. Through incantation, song, speeches in defense of life from his lover and against life from her mother.
Although the differing forms of love are often gathered together to decide the fate of some human it is less and less often that Amor Verdadeiro is called for and she submits to feeling weaker and weaker. Amor Contaminado however is called several times daily!
Performed in English and Portuguese this enchanting production with its international cast is very enjoyable and has many twists and turns to keep you focused in the story.  The movement is graceful and somewhat ethereal and the singing beautiful.
Whether the man lives or dies I will not say as the outcome is to be seen only by watching the show.
