Inspired by the poem ‘Warming
her Pearls’ this five strong troupe of Lucinda Ryan, Eleanor Appleton,
Zach Powell, Josephine Tremling and Vanessa Barrett perform this
burlesque-style piece of late night cabaret.
The show is fast paced and seedy,
with raunchy dance routines, outrageous make up, an intriguing story
line, so why didn’t I get blown away?
I don’t know why, but it
didn’t click with me. I accept that I do not know much about
burlesque, but I felt the music used for their dance routines was
incongruous and that they were trying to shock at times at the expense
of the show itself.
The busy night I was there did not
buzz either, so maybe it was not just me who thought that.
