Hare,
Lawrence Sorrento is teasing Little Water Rat, Catrin Livsey about
her juggling skills and boasting about his own. When wise Magpie
Carrie Armstron decides to teach him a lesson by telling them the
story of Anya the Miller's daughter (Pipa Evans) and what happens
when her fathers' boasting goes too far.
The three animals settle comfortably, onto seats in the audience and the story begins. The Miller, Neil
Watson is playing cards with two locals when he boasts his
daughter Anya can spin straw into Gold. The rumours spreads and is
brought to the greedy Kings ears. The King Andrew Lee, demands
that Anya spins a sack of straw into gold.
Weeping
in the guarded room she is surprised by a small strange man who
asks her what she will give him if he succeeds. All she has in the
world is a pendant and ring from her mother.
Most
of us know how the story goes right up until she discovers his
name, and so it is on stage, but will hare ever learn his lesson ?
I
doubt it as he goes through the same thing every night until the
28th.
A
nicely portrayed performance which both children and adults can
enjoy.
