Flamenco Con Fusion
Ricardo Garcia enters the auditorium guitar in hand the lights dim and suddenly:-
Fabulous fingers of fire flow forcing frantic flamenco feet to fly faster and faster.
I have always enjoyed guitar music and the pleasure of listening to a virtuoso like Ricardo is heightened by the visual spectacle that is Flamenco! Not only traditional forms of the original Spanish street dance, but showing the contrasts and similarities of the female Flamenco dancer and the young modern male street dancer.
The company also use drums, guitar and dance to fuse many various influences into an evolving performance which, should I be lucky enough to be able to see it towards the end of the run will be very different to the one I saw.
I found myself being carried away on the audio presentation and almost closed my eyes to be able to concentrate on the instruments, feet tapping and clapping hands.  I hope they get the audiences they deserve.
They certainly brought out the secret Latin lingering in me.
