Making
up stories on the spot is bad enough, but making them suitable and
enjoyable for a children’s audience must be much more difficult.
The
Black Sheep, Andy and Ciaran have been doing this for the past few
years. Usually with one or two helping hands, but this year it is
just the two of them. They get the children fully involved from
the start by getting themes, objects and ideas from them. They
then make up stories in several ways, finally giving a quick reprise
of what they have done at the end.
If
you think you have a budding performer in the family you could do
worse than take them to see this show and see how it is done.
