I think the Circus of Horrors is either
going to be the type of show you’ll completely go for or find
utterly repellent. There’s
very unlikely to be a middle ground with the types of performances
which highlight the weird, the wonderful and the downright
disgusting.
The Circus welcomes you to their particular
brand of freak show and the first half is certainly a showcase of
this. Those of a
nervous disposition will no doubt run screaming from the big top as
the various acts of skin stretching, glass eating and the
combination of sharp hooks and human flesh draw audible gasps and
groans from the crowd. The
second half engages in more spectacular fare as the circus elements
come into play through various acrobatics and stunts – all of
which are immensely impressive.
All in all the draw of the Circus of
Horrors is reveling in that which might normally scare or repulse
you. This is undoubtedly achieved but through the sheer
showmanship on display it’s hard not to be thoroughly entertained
at the same time.
