"Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville, welcome to Jackass!"
If those words mean anything to you, then you know what to expect with Jackass: The Movie. If not, then it would be advisable to find out before going to see this film. This is essentially a feature-length episode of the hit MTV programme. If you don't know what Jackass is, where have you been? It's a TV programme with a bunch of guys doing ridiculously stupid (and very often downright funny) stunts on camera.
There is no acting. There is no script. There is no censoring either, so the guys (Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason 'Wee Man' Acuna, Preston Lacy, Dave Englund, 'Danger' Ehren, and ring-leader Johnny Knoxville) are able to push the boundaries that little bit further, and they do so by incorporating things that you just would not see on television, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your point of view.
Due to the lack of acting, and lack of script it is very difficult to actually review the film, and if you take these things into consideration it would fail miserably. However, this is mainly for fans of the TV series, as if you're a fan, then you know what to expect.
If you haven't seen Jackass, and are a bit on the squeamish side, then you should avoid this like the plague. If you've watched Jackass on MTV or Channel 4 and laughed out loud, then you should definitely give this a look, as you'll probably end up doing what I did, and laugh right the way through it!
