If you’ve seen any of the previous American Pie films, then you know what you’re in for here: colourful characters, embarrassing situations and a happy ending tacked on the end.
Having gotten together at the end of the first film, and realised that they were meant to be together during the second film Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Allyson Hannigan) are getting married.
The good thing here is that much of the deadwood (Chris Klein, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari and Shannon Elizabeth) from the first two films has fallen by the wayside, and some of the other characters, such as Sean William Scott’s Steve Stifler, Eddie Kaye Thomas’s Paul Finch, and Eugene Levy as Jim’s Dad, have had their roles beefed up a bit.
The main story focuses on the ups and downs of the impending wedding, but there is a sub-plot that involves Stifler and Finch competing for the affections of one of the bridesmaids. This results in a game of one-upmanship between the pair, which sees them swap personas to truly comical effect.
Like I say, if you’ve seen the previous films, then you know what to expect. There’s a few very funny set-pieces, and lots of lewdness in between. Definitely worth a look.
