Lynsay B. initially came to our notice whilst
singing at the local bowling clubs regular karaoke nights. She is an
attractive young woman with a good voice and since meeting her husband
Mark, himself a performer, has been encouraged to work at her music.
This hard work is definitely paying off as was proven on Sunday 21st
when Lynsay and her new band performed at East End Park Dunfermline, for
the celebration/ thank you party after the sponsored ‘Dander for
Mary’.
Mary Lieshman a stalwart of local musical
societies sadly died of cancer earlier this year. Her husband Jim,
former Dunfermline Football Club icon, family and friends founded the Mary
Leishman Foundation. Sundays celebrations were for those taking part
in and supporting a 4 day sponsored walk raising funds for the charity.
Lynsay, Mark and their newly created band had
their first official outing as the entertainment for the evening.
Lynsay and the band started the evening off and
her play list was as follows Walking on sunshine, Torn, Other side,
Black horse, Underneath your clothes, But I do love you, Mr Rock n Roll,
This is the life, Turn me on, All the times I cried, Love Story and
Umbrella. This very wide selection says something about Lynsay’s vocal
range and ability.
Unfortunately the sound mixing was not all it
should have been as vocals were frequently drowned out by the
instruments, particularly the drums. This aside Lynsay put on a very
creditable performance. One we hope we are able to appreciate soon.
Mark and the band were due to do another set
after the charity raffle but as Geoff and I had to go off to the Stand
in Edinburgh we completely missed out.
We would certainly recommend you look out for
this talented couple in the future.
