It’s
no secret that both Geoff and I love to watch the brilliant Craig Hill
perform and although this is the third or forth time I have seen his
show ‘Craig Hill Makes Your Whole Week’. I can honestly say 80% or
more of his show was totally unique to whichever venue he happened to be
in on the night.
The
first time I saw Craig at The Carnegie Theatre in Dunfermline I was a
little surprised at the relatively small audience. Not so last night,
Saturday 20th July 2009. The place was much fuller, so full I
could not get near the first 9 rows let alone the front row.
Yet both times the audiences had a fabulous nights entertainment
and certain audience members definitely required the use of ‘Tenna
Ladies’.
Craig’s
masterful, perhaps not quite the perfect word in the circumstances, use
of the art of improvisation and utilization his of audience members
absolutely shone for me last night. Even taking in to account some of
the absolute gems he kept getting presented with. Close to stealing the
show at one point was Mark Roberts who having lived for some time in
Lanzarote was able to give Craig the Spanish for “ d*** head” and
hearing Mark is an entertainer Craig invited him on stage for a duet . I
honestly don’t know who enjoyed this small section of the show more,
the audience, Mark or Craig. I‘m not quite so sure how Mark‘s wife
Lynsay felt ‘Sorry Lynsay’. It was yet another aspect of Craig’s
fabulous talent on display and one of these unique moments you know will
probably never be repeated again that we were privileged to witness.
However
anyone wanting to witness this queen of comedy can see him at The
Edinburgh Fringe Festival, ‘Craig Hill – 40 Love…..?’ Gilded
Balloon Teviot Nightclub at 20:15 7th to 31st
August not 16th or 23rd, be there! I know we will
with ‘balls’ on!
Craig
maybe camper than a field of tents at a rock concert but he is far more
value for money and talent.
