Boothby Graffoe

Back to Main Index

Well!!  We have been here before, how to describe Boothby Graffoe?
This tall, talented man has me in stitches and although both Geoff and I have seen him many times before we always leave wanting more.  His brand, if he has one, of humour is a little off the wall, not to mention the ceiling, floor and any other direction you could mention.  Apart from his deep hypnotising sexy voice, it is his eyes that get me!  Both attracting and appealing then totally scary.
Appearing with him is the multi talented Nick (safety) Pynn a musical virtuoso who almost manages to keep his face straight throughout the show, even when he is the butt of Boothby’s jokes.  Boothby and Nick managed to take us on a musical tour of the globe covering 17 countries musically, although how did ‘Summer Nights’ cover the Greek culture??  Covering subjects from Bird Flue, America’s penchant for attacking enemies in Alphabetical order, how accents changed from English thanks to sunshine, and reviewers to stalkers… and that was only the first half!!  After a short interval they were back doing comical musical numbers which Boothby excels at.   By the way, we have had a copy of Boothby’s Wot Italian for two years, when will we get a new CD?
An all round great evening with everything from pleasant visuals, great comedy and superb if unusual music see them if you can.
As part of a Scottish tour he visited The Stand Edinburgh, and will be part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival by appearing at Glasgow Stand later this month.
If you don’t manage to see him during this tour roumour has it he will be back for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August also at The Stand. Check out either Boothby’s website www.boothbygraffoe.com, Nicks site www.nickpynn.co.uk or The Stand itself www.thestand.co.uk.
It should be my turn to see Boothby during the 2006 fringe but I see I will still have a fight for the ticket on my hands as he was Geoff’s discovery.
All in all a great night’s entertainment and as usual, a big thank you to all the staff at The Stand for the friendly, efficient and well organised way in which they run this value for money establishment.
The Stand run comedy shows seven days a week every week, so check out their web site for the bill of fare over the next couple of months, I know there is every chance we’ll be attending on quite a few occasions.
Brilliant show gorgeous guy cant wait to see him again.
