Geoff discovered Danny Bhoy
as the compere of The Comedy Zone, a Fringe show in the Pleasance
Cabaret Bar several years ago.
I myself didn’t see him until two years ago.
In preparation for the 2005
Edinburgh Fringe Festival Danny has taken his new show on the
road. We caught up
with him in the Adam Smith Theatre Kirkcaldy in Fife on Saturday
9th July.
Supported and introduced by
Steve Williams, this personable young man started our evening off
well and has left me with the desire to see some pensioner in a
mobility scooter attempting to cross speed bumps!! They eventually
used them to build up enough momentum to get them over a sleeping
policeman. He is one
of those comedians who rarely stand in one place for longer than a
few seconds. I would have loved to see him with a larger, more
responsive, audience. Sadly he is not performing during this forthcoming Fringe but
perhaps we will get to see him in 2006.
Danny himself was his usual
pleasant self, his new show is about the ‘excellent state of the
Scottish diet!’! The best in the world (actually voted the worst in the world
bar none!). He
mentioned most of the better-known local delicacies but managed to
miss out on deep fried Mars bars and Irnbru.
We both hope to get to see him during the fringe Danny Bhoy
Assembly Music Hall 19-30 (7-30pm) to 20-30 (8-30pm) August 5th to
28th (not 8th or 15th).
Please don’t be a
typical Scotsman and come late!
Why?
See the show and find
out!!
