Lily
is an underachieving nightclub singer, who has dreams of stardom,
but fails to make the cut at auditions.
Suddenly
her career is revitalised as two of her rivals meet with
unexpected deaths, and she is in line for the fame she desires
most. Is fate lending her a hand, or is it someone closer to home?
Evelyn
McLean plays the female roles; David Martin plays her accompanist
and would be lover as well as other male roles. The pair perform
songs by the likes of Alicia Keys, Tom Lehrer Stephen Sondheim and
Christina Aguilera during this hour long musical romp.
It
was a show I thoroughly enjoyed, and wish I'd had time to attend
the sequel using songs written this time by Mr Martin, that
follows their progress and immediately after this show. I'm trying
to make time in my schedule to see the sequel called Gangrene and
Grapes.
