In this the day and age of reality TV
surely a musical which mixes the best and worst aspects of shows
like ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Fame Academy’ should be a good
subject for a musical.
Such was my thoughts as I went to see
‘Fame Game’ sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations.
Whether it was the writing or that particular performance, I am
not sure. There were
one or two promising numbers, the cast reasonably talented but no
one outstanding, I did however think the band although good were a
little overpowering.
I also got the feeling the cast were a
little under rehearsed and the costumes a little tacky.
With some work it might be a reasonable
show and the performers worked very hard in some scenes.
