This
musical has a somewhat unusual heritage, and is staged by The Latymer
Company
With
a mixture of musical theatre, audiovisual and puppetry this is truly an
experience to behold.
The
story centres on Henry Green, on video aged 47 played by Mel Smith of Alas
Smith and Jones fame, and aged 27 on stage by Owen Findlay. Mr Findlay has
all the stage presence he could ever hope for, together with a fine
singing voice and acting abilities.
Henry
it appears is a bit of a philanderer and has returned home on Christmas
Eve to catch up with old friends and girlfriends. As always happens the
world has moved on, as on video and on stage he visits them all, friend
Ronnie, Dan Herd, married with kids, Cath, Camilla Felici, now with a
female partner, and so on including Veronica, Amanda Halipi who has a
surprise for Henry in the shape of their three year old son.
The
cast can all sing and move well, although the title song apart the musical
numbers are not that memorable.
All
in all a very competent performance by this young company.
