As
with previous shows HWS Rembiko encourages students to write their
own material. Now writing a monologues or play is bad enough but a
full length musical or as in this case Rock Opera is some task.
Teenager Leon Moskatel has done this with
"Ticket to the Top". Despite technical problems, which
occasionally made the vocals difficult to hear, the storyline was
clear. The plot one although basic is credible and enjoyable.
Unfortunately none of the musical numbers were show stoppers,
but at this stage in his career we don’t expect everything to be
perfect.
The extremely talented cast of Leon’s
peers have the job of not only selling "Ticket to the Top"
to Edinburgh Fringe audiences but many of them are in one or more
other HWS Rembiko shows. The
talent, quality and stamina of these kids never fails to amaze me.
For a brand new show from a future Broadway
Musical writer and possible TV and Film stars, don’t miss HWS
Rembiko’s "Ticket to the Top".
