This
production of Sweeny Todd follows the usual very traditional
storyline and setting. Clever use of the minimalistic props add
volumes to this show.
Matt
Wilkinson as Sweeney Todd is the epitome of this unlikely hero, he
has a good voice and stage presence. Annabel Lloyd may not have
quite as strong a voice as that of Matt but she does a very
creditable job. For me Chris Hancock was not ideal material for
Anthony, although he is a perfect foil for Isabella Gage as Joanna.
The show was stolen by Neil Jenkins as Tobias his lovely voice does
justice to 'Nothings Gonna’ Harm You'.
This
good rendition of Sondheim's 'Sweeney Todd'.
