Admittedly a bit of a Sondheim addict, I
thoroughly enjoy seeing his work done well. This company Kenspeck
Theatre do a superb job.
‘Putting it Together’ is a selection of
various musical numbers from different Sondheim shows, linked together.
The setting is a cocktail party held for the celebration of the wedding
anniversary of one couple, with the various guests experiencing a gambit
of emotions, we are skilfully guided through the evening by the waiter
who acts as narrator.
Sondheim’s music and lyrics are notoriously
difficult to perform well, yet this company sail through the show with
panache and verve.
This cast is so talented they could all take a
place in the West End, each one has a superb singing voice and the
acting skills are obvious.
Thanks to my inability to keep hold of the
programme I unfortunately have no further information for you.
