Workout and die(with a)t - A low-calorie musical
Slimmed-Down Drama Production Company
Set mainly in a fitness centre it tells the individual tales of five main characters in a simple yet fun way. Lucy is a doctor’s receptionist. She is concerned about our sedentary lifestyle and the money made out of our dieting misery. Her daughter is suffering teenage angst; her best mate wants to look like a 26 year old; her gay friend is obsessed with other male bodies; and one of her patients is not quite as successful as she seems.
This Musical written and performed by Linda Kirby as Pam a 56 year old woman wanting a 26 year old body. Lynne Smart-Steel (Lucy) attends the local gym, keeping it in the family Imogen Smart-Steel is and also plays her daughter Sophie in the show and Jim Steel is the shows Technician. The two other performers are Geoff Brown and Naomi Taylor.  Of all the actors on stage Naomi’s vocal talents far in a way outshone the others.
This production took an everyday story and produced it in a neat simple way.
