This
is a two part performance, firstly that of Mrs Worthington's
daughter Daphne and her ambition to perform on the stage, nothing
to do with the fact that her mother encouraged her from birth.
This is her story and it covers the time in her first rep company
when that son came out! "Don’t put your daughter on the
stage Mrs Worthington! Don’t put your daughter on the
stage!" To her eventual success.
The
second and much shorter part is the performance of a selection of
Noel Coward Songs including that one! Superbly performed and sung
by Carol Bishop accompanied by Karen Kingsley on piano and Robert
Blanken on clarinet and saxophone.
The librettist Marian Lines was in to see the same
performance as myself.
