This innovative young theatre group from Coventry transport the audience through a weirdly colourful extravaganza in the world premiere of this musical written by Neil Bruton.
The dozen or more performers gave a strong, if somewhat surreal performance of this piece, with each superbly costumed, we had clowns, monkeys, dogs, postmen and stripper nuns to name but a few. I am not sure I fully grasped the total message of the show, it must have been the generation gap, as the rest of the audience we lapping it up and looking for more. However it certainly was an enjoyable performance with much splendid acting and singing voices particularly that of Katie Dawson.
I also want to single out one of the best pieces of animal acting I have ever seen, that of Newrouz Mawlood playing Peanut the Monkey. If we awarded ‘stars’, his performance alone would merit 5...... bananas?
Finally, a quote from the writer 'It's a Family Musical, with a stripper at the interval', and if this sounds like it is for you, be quick the show only runs until 9th.
