Dean Friedman - Songs for Grownups
Nokia Orange Assembly
It must have been about 23 years ago that I first saw Dean Friedman in Edinburgh's Usher Hall and felt that the man's charisma filled that huge arena.
Time has passed, the venue is now much smaller and like me Dean is much greyer, but the man's charisma and talent has not diminished one iota. He plays for one hour using piano, keyboards and both acoustic and electric guitars to back his own unique vocal style.
Some of his material was new to me as I have maybe not followed his career as closely as I might, but there were plenty of his 'oldies' to keep everyone happy in a show that finished all too soon for us all.
Criticisms? Only one, he didn't perform my personal favourite 'Ariel.'
