After Dark
Maria Hadnett Productions
In a remote rain forest in Central Africa, Cheeba (Mark Ramsey) lives in peaceful harmony with his daughter Numa (Mutasa Mankola), a beautiful singing bird Ju-Ju (Susane Braun), Chiko (Daron Ramsey) a cheeky monkey and newcomer Emika (Natasha Lani) a semi wild kitten. When their world is put in danger by a helicopter crash and the discovery of this utopia by the surviving human males. Luke (Simon Connolly) his father Sam (Stuart Lines) and pilot Pete (Andrew McClaine). The greed of one man fights against the sudden love of simplicity.
The most spectacular things about this show are the makeup, costumes and dance routines. The musical numbers are fairly basic but get a message across. I feel the show is saying that even in utopia beings revert to type to protect all they hold dear.
This show has the potential to be developed into something spectacular.
