Footlights have been around for ever, and have a world class alumni
of past performers, you'll know the names as well as I.
They
have a huge following and I usually describe as a slightly more
mature audience than the average Fringe crowd. The show is always
slick and well performed and directed and this years performers,
Max Bennett, Simon Bird, Nadia Kamil, Dan Mansell and Lisa Owens
,under the directorship of Guy Morgan. are no exception to this
norm.
However,
for me and a vast majority of their audience at the performance I
saw, the material was far too surreal, so much so I wondered if I
was on the same planet as the writers.
