It
was last year that Brendan Burns allegedly consigned his alter ego
Burnsey to oblivion, I was therefore keen to see if he had been
resuscitated with this show called All my Love, All my Rage.
Brendan
still is at times a loud and intimidating guy, especially to the
newcomers to his shows, but the guys has a wicked sense of humour
and is a raconteur like no other.
Don't
expect jokes, you won 't get them, what you will get is a year in
the life of Mr Burns, from Glastonbury 2004 when he discovered his
fiancée’s infidelity until the same festival this year.
Burns
commands his space like no other, occasionally raging, often
poignant, but always funny. He gets laughs from the most unlikely
sources at times, but there is always that edge which makes him
who he is.
Brendan
claims that things are looking up for him currently, and it is not
before time. The man has a huge talent and personality, it's only
right he is getting the acclaim some of us have been aware of for
years.
One
thing more, it is not every comedian who will plug others shows at
his gig, but he very generously did recommend half a dozen or so
at the end of his hour. Nice one mate!
