I
must confess that 12 months ago I'd never heard of Michael
McIntyre but one of my former colleagues went to se him and raved
how brilliant he was. The Perrier judges must have agreed, as Michael
was a Newcomer nominee, so this year I decided to check him out
for myself and have to concur, the guy is brilliant.
From
moment one he captivated the audience with a mixture of chatting
with the audience and telling funny stories.
Names
seem too be an important part of his set, as the audience are
encouraged to assist in the selecting the name for the imminent
offspring of one audience member and he checks out the middle
names of one and all to glean further humour from them.
And
talking of names, he has now obviously made one for himself, and
would it look good on the Perrier Award? I for one think it really
would.
