There
are two Fringe institutions in one at this show, the slightly more
obvious one being, that this is a showcase of some of the best
acts on the go this year and the other being Mervyn's bright pink
jacket, and I'm pleased to say that both institutions are alive
and well!
It
would be fair to say Mr Stutter's audience is more mature than
most shows, but there is a fair smattering of youngsters as well.
Mervyn
entertains us for a short while and then up to seven acts get to
showcase their shows, The performance I saw had comedy in the form
of Hopkins & Glover, Sol Bernstien and Matt Dytinski, theatre
in the form of Animal Farm by First In, Last Out Theatre Company
and The Life Blood by Beat Theatre, Flop by Pig Iron Theatre and
finally a acappella 'boyband' The Magnets who literally had the
audience on their feet.
All in all an excellent
show, and although each will be different, if the standard is the
same high quality as this one, well, it'd be money well spent.
