Matt Blaize is black, British and proud, this comes across in his show.  I find it difficult to believe he is 34 years old, he is a 6 foot 4 inch tall cockney with a well educated English accent. Having been performing to full houses, he suddenly found himself with an audience of 12. Was it difficult for you to continue you’re show I asked him afterwards. To which he replied no, we seemed to be with him all the way, but that it helped some of us actually sat in the front row.

His observational humour relies mainly on his own personal experiences and he gave us choices as to which extent he should go with the show. Although not too confrontational he did rely on feedback from us and was apparently grateful when he got it.  I feel it would have been quite a different show had he room been full and the responses more raucous.

Matt has a gentle talent and I look forward to seeing this develop over the next few years, when hopefully he gets the recognition he deserves.
